  • Switch off the electrics at the main DB (electrical) board in the kitchen or garage (normally, not always)
  • Isolate and switch off the water at the water meter or main shut off valve in the street, on the premises or in the roof if you have access.
  • Move children and pets away from the affected area
  • Open up a hot water tap to drain excess water from the geyser and pipes
  • The water should stop running or slow down considerably after a few minutes
